Irish Construction Industry Partners Working For A Safer Workplace

Construction Safety Week 2019

Construction Safety Week 2019 will run from Monday, 21st October up to, and including Friday 25th October. The theme for this year is ‘Healthy Workplaces Manage Dangerous Substances’.

Construction Safety Week is an opportunity to reflect on aspects of safety, health and overall wellbeing and to promote its importance throughout the workforce. It is recommended to review past activities and to learn from successes, failures and near misses. By sharing experiences, we may eliminate avoidable accidents, enhance worker morale and increase productivity.

How to get involved:

  1. Visit the dedicated webpage: https://cif.ie/safety-week/
  2. Organise a safety event during this week.
  3. Publicise the event using #CIFSafety19 on social media.
  4. Register as an official partner to Construction Safety Week.

There are five suggested focus areas, one for each day: https://cif.ie/safety-week/schedule/

  1. Mental Health and Wellbeing in Construction.
  2. Working Safely with Electricity.
  3. Working Safely at Height.
  4. Vehicle Risk & Safety in Lifting Operations.
